We are committed to providing Fairtrade products across campus and in our catering outlets. Here's what we have to offer:
Coffee and Teas ☕️
All our catering outlets serve ethically traded coffee, tea and sugar. Triple-accredited coffee (Fairtrade, Organic and Rainforest Alliance) is available at outlets like:
- The Garrick
- 4th Floor Cafe Bar
- Bean Counter
- Cafe 54
- Beveridge Cafe
- Shaw Café
- Fawcett Cafe
Snacks and Sweets 🍌
Fairtrade chocolate, snacks, fruit, and juice are available in campus shops and cafes. Specific items include:
- Fairtrade muffins
- Brownies
- Cookies
- Kitkats
- Bananas: Providing fairtrade bananas helps to support ethical farming communities and provide farmers with better wages and community funding.
Shaw Café 🌱
Shaw Café is a fully plant-based, sustainable outlet offering ethically sourced coffee (direct trade from Union Coffee), vegan treats, and nutritious lunches. It not only supports LSE's commitment to sustainability but also serves as a dedicated space for plant-based eating on campus.
The University ensures that food waste is composted, cooking oil is converted into biodiesel, and consistently offers fairtrade products/options in each outlet ♻️
