Every day, fresh and tasty food goes to waste at cafés, restaurants, hotels and shops just because it hasn't been sold in time. To help fight this food waste, we're offering boxes of delicious fresh food in selected cafés and restaurants on campus at a discounted price on the Too Good To Go app.

What is Too Good To Go?

A free app that lets you buy unsold food from a range of outlets at a significantly discounted price. Instead of letting good meals go to waste at the end of the day, local businesses pack them into 'Magic Bags' that you can collect! 

How does it work?

The app makes it incredibly easy to find these surplus packages, simply: 

1. Download the app, available on iOS and Android
2. Search by location and/or name to see which campus food and drink spots or nearby businesses are offering Magic Bags
3. Reserve your bag via the app
4. Pick it up at the listed time and enjoy! 

Magic Bags tend to cost between £3-4, holding a range of content worth at least double that! 

Our top Too Good To Go tips

• Set a reminder – our Magic Bags sell out quickly, so be ready to grab one as soon as they appear. 
• Be flexible – sometimes you won't know exactly what's inside the bag until you pick it up, fun right? If you do have dietary restrictions, definitely make the most of the filters! 
• Save your favourites – always pass by The Shaw Café on your way home from uni? Pop it into your favourites so you can easily see how many bags are left. 
• Bring a bag (just incase) – most places will provide collection packaging, however, why not bring your own carrier to reduce waste and just incase? When you go to pick-up, let them know you've brought your own bag or container. 
• Look in your 'Profile' section – here you can see just how much money you have saved over time and how much CO2e you've avoided, a great motivator to keep reducing food waste!
