Looking for ways to make your money stretch further on campus? Nadine shares her top food and drink hacks to power through the day without breaking the bank.
1. Get the early bird offer
Head to the cafés before 9:30am to be able to nab a fresh coffee (americano, espresso) or tea and croissant or piece of fruit for just £1.80. Perfect for a quick, budget-friendly breakfast on the go.
2. Download Too Good To Go
For lunch, Nadine booked a Too Good To Go bag from Plaza Café in advance using the app. You can download the app and keep an eye on when LSE cafés and restaurants have surplus food available for less, to help us fight food waste and save you significant money.
Nadine got a mix of sweet and savoury treats in her bag – enough to share with a friend – for just £3!
3. Use a reusable cup
Long study sessions in the library? Always on the go? A reusable cup can have lots of benefits, on and off campus.
Using a reusable cup in our cafés will save you 25p per drink (as using a single-paper cup will cost you an extra 25p per cup), which can save you a significant amount of money over the year. Nadine uses her KeepCup for easy top ups throughout the day, like a cheeky hot chocolate in the library.
Don't have one? You can buy an LSE KeepCup in our cafés – and get your first hot drink for free.
Small swaps and keeping an eye out for offers throughout the year really add up, see how you can make the most of our food offers on campus.
